(ThePatriotWire)- In a recent interview, Dr. Ben Carson suggested that cancel culture is “probably here to stay” as long as there are people who want to control the thoughts and speech of others.
Appearing on “Just the News, No Noise,” last Tuesday, Carson said that while cancel culture isn’t going anywhere, there are ways to get around it by providing alternatives.
Carson, along with country singer John Rich and conservative host Larry Elder, is working to create a new bank for Americans who have concerns that their existing bank may punish them for exercising their free speech.
The Old Glory Bank, which will be launching soon, will offer full online banking services.
Carson told “Just the News, No Noise” that the solution to cancel culture is innovation. He said ingenuity and creativity, along with recognizing the things destroying our nation, will be the country’s salvation.
In discussing Old Glory Bank, Carson noted that it will be “the first chartered bank that openly supports America,” the flag, freedom, patriotism, and the military “and we don’t make any bones about the fact” that the bank will emphasize those areas.
Last month, Carson became a victim of cancel culture after the Detroit School Board voted to remove his name from one of its high schools.
Political activists have been fighting to have the Benjamin Carson High School of Science and Medicine renamed over Dr. Carson’s time in the Trump administration where he served as the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development.
In 2018, one Detroit activist claimed that having a school named after Ben Carson is the same as “having Trump’s name on our school in blackface.”
Ben Carson, who attended the Detroit public school system, went on to become one of the world’s foremost neurosurgeons before serving as Trump’s HUD Secretary.
Carson appeared on Fox News last week where he told host Sean Hannity that it was “very sad” that the country has gotten to the point “where political ideology trumps the whole purpose of an educational institution.”
Carson asked Hannity how it helps boost math and reading scores “to demonize people with whom we disagree.”
