(ThePatriotWire)- Last week while attending the G-7 Summit in Bavaria, President Biden had a brief exchange with French President Emmanuel Macron where Macron voiced his doubts that Saudi Arabia would be capable of significantly increasing oil production in the near term.
Video of the exchange showed President Macron interrupting Biden on the sidelines of the summit last Monday where he appeared to tell him of a conversation he had with the leader of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al Nahyan.
President Macron said al Nahyan had told him that both Saudi Arabia and the UAE could not increase oil production.
He told President Biden that al Nahyan said the UAE was already “at a maximum” and while the Saudis can increase production a little bit, by about 150 thousand barrels a day, the Saudis wouldn’t be able to produce “huge capacities at least before six months’ time.”

During Tuesday’s press briefing this week, press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was asked what prompted this conversation between Macron and Biden.
A reporter asked her if President Biden had asked the French to ask Saudi Arabia to pump more oil through the United Arab Emirates.
But Jean-Pierre refused to answer, only saying that she didn’t hear the conversation so she can’t speak about it.
