(ThePatriotWire)- While last Tuesday’s election failed to generate a “Red Wave” on the national level, there were Republican waves on the state level, most notably in Florida.
Republican Ron DeSantis, who in 2018 defeated Democrat Andrew Gillum by a measly 0.4 points, sailed to victory Tuesday, defeating Democrat Charlie Crist by nearly 20 points.
The DeSantis Wave was so enormous that he even flipped traditionally blue counties in the state, including deep blue Miami-Dade County in which he won with 55 percent of the vote, and Palm Beach County which he won 51 percent.
Riding the DeSantis wave was Senator Marco Rubio who defeated Democrat Val Demings by more than a million votes, 57.7 percent to 41.3 percent. Rubio too secured the majority in deep blue Miami-Dade.
On top of that, Republicans flipped four Florida House seats to win 20 congressional districts to the Democrats’ 8 districts.
Even down-ballot races benefited from Ron DeSantis’ coattails. The conservatives running for school boards whom Ron DeSantis endorsed all won their respective races.
That’s quite a massive wave for a guy who, just four years earlier, barely eked out a win.
The DeSantis landslide wave election also left many pundits with egg on their faces.
How many pundits claimed that DeSantis’ taking on Disney would destroy his chances of reelection?
How many said the same about his fights against Big Tech, the trans activists, and teachers’ unions?
After Ron DeSantis flew about 50 Venezuelan illegal aliens to Martha’s Vineyard, Fox News contributor Geraldo Rivera was one of those pundits making bold predictions, boldly predicting in a tweet that there would be a blowback from Florida Latino voters “outraged” by DeSantis “toying with the lives of those Venezuelan refugees he exploited.”
Ah, yes. Latinos in Florida would punish DeSantis for sending illegal aliens to Martha’s Vineyard.
Only that didn’t happen.
In addition to winning women, Governor DeSantis also carried the Latino vote in Florida.
At least Geraldo Rivera had the courage to admit he was wrong. In a tweet after the DeSantis Wave, Rivera quote-tweeted his bold prediction adding, “This Tweet did not age well.”
