Judge Holds Emergency Hearing In Kari Lake Election

(ThePatriotWire)- Kari Lake, Secretary of State, and incoming Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs, Maricopa County Board of Supervisors members, and several others were ordered to appear at an urgent court hearing on Tuesday by Arizona Judge Peter Thompson. He is presiding over the election lawsuit filed by Arizona GOP gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake. The hearing scheduled oral arguments for Monday and outlined a timeline for how both parties can proceed while the 70-page election lawsuit is litigated.

Although the virtual hearing was supposed to start at 11 a.m. Pacific Standard Time, technical issues caused it to be postponed until almost noon. Wendy Rogers, a state senator from Arizona, later tweeted the meeting’s specifics, allowing anyone to attend.

Just before the meeting began, Lake tweeted that she was told it was the most popular meeting in America. Neither she nor her attorneys could enter the court hearing meeting.

Hobbs and the other Maricopa County officials did not show up in person; instead, their representatives appeared in virtual court alongside Lake. According to the Arizona Sun-Times, in addition to Lake and Hobbs, Board of Supervisor members Bill Gates, Clint Hickman, Jack Sellers, Thomas Galvin, and Steve Gallardo, as well as Director of Elections Scott Jarrett, were also asked to appear.

Any motions to dismiss must be submitted by Thursday, December 15, by both parties. Andy Gaona, the attorney for Hobbs, announced that the Arizona Secretary of State’s Office intended to dismiss this case by Thursday.

Oral arguments are scheduled for Monday, and the dates of the evidence hearings are December 21 and 22.

Upon the conclusion of the hearing, Kari Lake was upbeat. The hearing for my lawsuit today was instructive. The Judge took note of how much information my team gathered. The defense team for the defendants appeared to be trying desperately to ignore it, Lake said in a statement. “I appreciate the work that Judge Peter Thompson and his team do, and we are confident that if given a chance, we will expose this election for the fraud it was,” the Lake said.

Thousands of voters were allegedly disenfranchised due to printer problems in Maricopa County, according to Lake’s 70-page election lawsuit, which challenges the results of the 2022 General Election.

Additionally, the complaint asserts that on election day, hundreds of thousands of mail-in ballots were delivered to a third-party vendor named Runbeck Election Services after being dropped off in drop boxes or returned via the USPS.
