Kamala Harris Leaving D.C. To Visit Chicago After Mass Killing

(ThePatriotWire)- Tuesday, one day after the mass shooting that left at least six people dead and scores more injured in a northern suburb of the violent and crime-ridden city, Vice President Kamala Harris is scheduled to travel to Chicago.

After meeting with firemen in Santa Monica, California, Harris told reporters that she would drive to Chicago tomorrow morning to address the National Association of Educators – NEA.

If Harris would visit the Fourth of July parade shooting victims in Highland Park, Illinois, approximately 25 miles to the north, she did not specify.

Harris said she was preparing a significant section of her speech on what our teachers go through. She said she was planning it before, but, sadly, it is something that people deal with too much. She noted that our teachers attend school to learn how to instruct our students and arouse their desire to produce the next generation of leaders, but are also trained to cope with an active shooter,

She said our educators are forced to learn how to apply a tourniquet to an injured child. Therefore, when we consider the problem of gun violence and its risks to communities, it is significant and something we should take seriously.

Police are looking for a Caucasian guy with long, black hair who is between the ages of 18 and 20 but have not yet identified a suspect in the mass shooting.

Biden announced that he recently signed into law the first significant piece of bipartisan gun reform legislation in almost thirty years, which contains provisions that will save lives. He said there is still a lot of work to be done, and he won’t stop battling the scourge of gun violence.

The bipartisan reform law sought to, among other changes, establish more thorough background checks for those between the ages of 18 and 21 in the wake of the May killings of 10 people at a Buffalo grocery store and 21 people at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, by suspects who were 18 at the time.
The tragedy in Highland Park follows a car attack on a Christmas parade in Waukesha, Wisconsin, in November that left six people dead. Darrell Brooks, the suspect, is accused of first-degree murder.

Car control is desperately needed—especially automatic cars.
