(ThePatriotWire)- According to Breitbart News, Shannon Brandt, 41, who was charged with killing Cayler Ellingson, 18, because the teenager was a purported “Republican radical,” was released from the Stutsman County jail in North Dakota on Tuesday.
A jail officer who spoke to the media said that Brandt was released after posting a $50,000 bond.
Brandt informed neighborhood police that he had run Ellingson over with his automobile. That is not in dispute.
Valley News Live reported that according to court records, Shannon Brandt, 41, contacted 911 at 2:35 on Sunday morning to claim that he had hit a pedestrian because he was threatening. According to Brandt, the pedestrian belonged to a Republican extremist group and was concerned that they were “going to get him. 18-year-old Cayler Ellingson has been named as the victim.
Deputies headed to Brandt’s home in Glenfield, ND, which is roughly 12 minutes away from the scene of the event, after stopping by the incident site. Brandt acknowledged drinking before the event and said he struck Ellingson with his automobile due to a political disagreement. Additionally, Brandt told deputies that after initially leaving the crash site and returning to phone 911, he departed once more before the deputies could arrive.
According to court records, Ellingson called his mother just before the collision and asked if they knew who Brandt was. She replied in the affirmative and told her kid she would pick him up soon. According to court filings, Ellingson called his mother again a short while later to report that “he” or “they” were pursuing him. Ellingson could not be reached again after the second call.
According to Fox News, Brandt was charged with “criminal vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of an incident involving a death.”
The murder took place only a few days after President Joe Biden conducted a “unity” summit to encourage Americans to unite against the so-called “MAGA Republicans,” whom Biden had earlier this month referred to as a “danger” to the nation.
The murderer is out on bail. J6 defendants are still in jail.
