RNC Chairwoman May Soon Run for Michigan Governor

by admin

Michigan has real problems. For starters, the state is leading the country in new COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations; this comes in spite of stringent shutdown orders, travel restrictions, and more.

The CDC has advised Michigan to go back on lockdown, despite the clear ineffectiveness of these edicts. What’s more is that Michigan Democrat Governor Gretchen Whitmer appears to be all in favor of this. Whitmer has talked about the re-implementation of coronavirus restrictions for another six months in Michigan.

Many Michigan Republicans and conservatives are fed up with failed leftist leadership in the state. Newsmax is now reporting that Republican National Committee chairwoman Ronna Romney McDaniel is considering a run for Michigan governor.

Ronna McDaniel for Michigan Governor?

Like many other states, Michigan has a gubernatorial election coming up in 2022. This means that Gretchen Whitmer is up for re-election. Many Michiganders are furious with Whitmer’s leadership and would love the chance to vote her out of office.

That opportunity just might be on its way. According to sources, McDaniel has openly spoken about resigning from her post as the RNC chairwoman so that she can challenge Whitmer for her position as Michigan’s governor.

McDaniel is reportedly displeased about the means in which Whitmer has handled COVID-19, children’s education, and much more. Furthermore, there is a direct correlation between the Michigan governor’s failed policies and economic harm suffered by the Wolverine State.

However, Richard Walters, the chief of staff for the Republican National Committee, has a different version of the story. Walters maintains that while McDaniel is not happy about Whitmer’s leadership, her interest remains in staying on as RNC chair and helping the GOP regain the House and Senate next year.

Saving the State of Michigan

At this time, the RNC chairwoman has not confirmed reports that she plans to run for governor of Michigan. However, McDaniel continues to speak out against leftist policies and is working with Republicans to help the GOP win next year’s midterm elections.

2022 will be a chance for Michiganders to get Whitmer out of office. Whether or not the current Democrat governor faces a GOP challenger next year remains to be seen. Over the years, however, Michigan has grown into an increasingly liberal state. Many folks with the means and interest to move out of the Wolverine State are already doing so.
