(ThePatriotWire)- An ex-intelligence officer claims that the communist government of China is using social media to stoke racial animosity in the United States.
According to Nicholas Eftimiades, a senior fellow at the Atlantic Council, a Washington-based think tank, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is actively working to decrease trust in the American political system and to widen political polarization among Americans by inciting racial tensions on social media.
Eftimiades said that China works very hard at trying to split the United States.
Race-baiting is a strategy imported to the United States from China. This dates back to the 2020 riots. Racism or indignation over racial problems is encouraged or coaxed for political benefit.
Eftimiades, who has previously worked for the Defense Intelligence Agency, the State Department, the Diplomatic Security Service, and the Central Intelligence Agency, claimed that the CCP maintained many organizations that could support such campaigns and conducted overseas information operations.
He named a few of them, including the People’s Liberation Army, the Ministry of State Security, and the propagandistic United Front work department of the CCP, all of which have engaged in covert influence operations abroad.
Eftimiades said that CCP’s social media initiatives often failed because they were exposed by security specialists working for the social media firms.
Insular online echo chambers, where readers often only receive information tailored for them based on private algorithms, are where some, nevertheless, could fester and thrive.
Because some of them don’t have time to amass a sizable following before being taken down, Eftimiades added, “you may wonder how successful some of these are.”
Communist Party (CCP) propagandists in the United States are using social media to exacerbate divisions and widen partisanship among Americans, according to Meta Platforms co-founder George Eftimiades.
Eftimiades said that for the first time, we’ve seen a lot of assaults in the U.S. “Divide and conquer” is a strategy used internally.
In the United States, racism is a problem, and lately, Eftimiades added, “people are taking advantage of people’s differences.”
The statements reaffirm similar ones made by Mike Pompeo, a former secretary of state now a program presenter for the Hudson Institute, a right-leaning think group.
Pompeo said that the biggest falsehood the CCP spews is that America is somehow a racist country. “But it couldn’t be farther from the truth.”
He said that the only nation built on the principle that all people are respected and created equally is America.
