(ThePatriotWire)- The body of a drug cartel lieutenant who was taken out of prison earlier this month with the help of about 80 gunmen was found dumped on the street in the Mexican state of Guerrero.
Guerrero authorities found the body of Samuel “El Vago” Avila Martin, a lieutenant in the cell of Tequileros, a week after the gunmen stormed a Guerrero prison, overpowered the prison guards, and took “El Vego” away with them.
Not long after “El Vego” was taken from prison, the leader of a cell of La Familia Michoacana, José Alfredo “El Fresa” Hurtado Olascoaga, posted a video where he questioned “El Vego” about a massacre.
Beside “El Vego’s” dead body, the gunmen left a message allegedly signed by La Familia Michoacana.
Last week, it was reported that Mexican authorities arrived a day late after cartel gunmen kidnapped and executed a family in Guerrero, including an 11-year-old boy.
The incident took place last weekend in the town of El Durazno when a group of armed men arrived in SUVs bearing the letters “FM” for Familia Michoacana. The gunmen ordered the residents of the town to gather at a soccer field.
The gunmen, who were allegedly angry over the creation of new municipalities in the area that would interfere with their criminal operations, then killed at least seven people, including an 11-year-old. Another man was doused with gasoline and burned alive.
Despite calls to the police from the rural community asking for help, the state police forces didn’t respond to El Durazno until the following day when they documented the scene and collected the dead.
Authorities in Guerrero would not say why their arrival was delayed.
