Donald Trump Planning For Many Challengers In 2024

(PatrioticPost.com)- Former President Donald Trump was the first person to announce his candidacy for president in 2024.

Since then, two other Republicans have thrown their hat in the ring – former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy. Even more Republican candidates are expected to announce in the coming months, and that’s something that Trump’s former niece, Mary Trump, said her uncle would certainly welcome.

Over the weekend, Mary Trump appeared on “The Katie Phang Show” on MSNBC, during which she was discussing the field of GOP candidates for president in 2024.

Speaking specifically about Haley, she said the former ambassador to the UN – who served during the Trump administration – is trying to strike a challenging balance of positioning herself as a viable candidate while also not criticizing Trump too much.

Mary Trump said that it’s very possible that Haley could just be putting herself front and center so that she could potentially be selected as Trump’s running mate. As Mary Trump said:

“It’s a little mystifying to understand what [Nikki Haley’s] run is about, unless, as is often the case, she’s running for vice president. But, she needs to walk a very fine line, right? She can’t be too anti-Donald and she has to sort of toe the GOP line.

“I think we’re going to see a campaign that’s sort of replete with Republicanisms. We’ve already seen this in her opening bid, the racism, the homophobia, and the entire ignorance of the reality of America’s past and her unwillingness to grapple with that. So, I don’t think we’re going to see much interesting or unique in her campaign at all.”

Mary Trump further said that her having a crowded field of GOP candidates in 2024 is “precisely” what her uncle would want. With a crowded field, Trump could figure out a way to separate himself more easily than if he were going up against just one or two other strong challengers.

Many political pundits have agreed with this notion, too, saying if there were a large number of challengers to Trump, they could potentially split up the anti-Trump conservative support, which might not be enough for any of them to outrank Trump himself.

The question, then, is why Haley would run for president if all the signs are showing that more challengers to Trump would actually benefit him rather than hurt him? This is pertinent because some of Trump’s biggest potential challengers haven’t announced their intentions yet – including Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, former Vice President Mike Pence and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

Mary Trump has made similar comments about Haley’s campaign before her weekend appearance on MSNBC, saying on her internet show that Haley could already have a “back room deal” in place with her uncle. Mary even questioned why Haley would run at all, saying:

“She is going to have to engage Donald and [his supporters] the MAGA-ts, because if she can’t draw a distinction, there’s literally no point to what she’s doing. Unless they have some secret back room deal, it’s going to piss him off anyway.”
