(ThePatriotWire)- According to an online entertainment magazine, CBS canceled the season finale of “FBI” on Tuesday following the mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas. Because the episode features the agency averting a school shooting, the episode titled “Prodigal Son” is timely.
According to CBS, the TV series follows a New York-based team of special agents who use their abilities, knowledge, and technological experience on important cases to keep New York and the country secure.
In its place, CBS rebroadcasted the season’s 12th episode. The spin-off series FBI: Most Wanted and FBI: International, both of which had season finales, had aired as usual.
The cancellation comes as the result of an 18-year-old shooter opening fire at a Texas elementary school last week. The shooter killed at least 19 children as he moved from classroom to classroom, according to Texas officials. Reporting shows this to be the bloodiest school shooting in over a decade and the latest horrible episode in a country plagued by mass shootings.
After a considerable time into the shooting spree, the attacker was eventually killed by law enforcement. Two adults were also murdered by the man, according to officials. Governor Greg Abbott revealed that one of the two was a teacher.
Officials could not immediately provide a motive, but Salvador Ramos, a resident of Uvalde, which is 85 miles west of San Antonio and 75 miles from the Mexican border, was identified as the assailant. He acted alone, according to law enforcement officials.
According to state Sen. Roland Gutierrez, who claimed he had been briefed by state police, Ramos had intimated that an assault might be imminent on social media. He said Ramos recommended that the kids keep an eye out for him.
Uvalde, Texas, has an estimated population of 16,000 people, and Robb Elementary is located in a primarily residential area with modest homes.
