(ThePatriotWire)- Former vice president Mike Pence will urge the pro-life community on Wednesday night to “stay the course” in its fight against abortion, saying the eventual objective must be to make abortion “unthinkable.”
In his first public address since Roe v. Wade’s overturn, Pence will call the decision a “turning point in American history” but stress that the fight has just begun as “new battlefields are emerging in every state in the land,” according to a draft of his remarks obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.
Pence will say that our task remains the same in our fast-changing post-Roe America. It’s to stop the culture of death, restore a culture of life, and bring the sanctity of human life to the core of American law.
The reversal of Roe transformed the political scene for the 2022 midterms and 2024 Republican presidential primary. Pence will give his Wednesday night speech at the Florence Baptist Temple in South Carolina, a critical early primary state.
Pence will proclaim the Trump administration “the most pro-life ever.” Pence’s participation in advising the president to choose Justices Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett is one of the most meaningful moments of his life.
Ending constitutional protection for abortion and returning regulation to the states initiated a new struggle to make abortion unthinkable by making it easier for moms to choose life, according to Pence.
Pence said that we should aim to make abortion unfathomable for every American, not simply illegal. America should make doing the right thing easy. We must make life easy for every American.
Pence urges Americans to elect pro-life leaders who can usher in a new pro-life beginning in America and promote laws that make choosing life easier for women, such as adoption reform and pregnancy help centers. He also wants new child support rules to guarantee fathers support their unborn kids.
“Life begins at conception—and so do a father’s obligations,” Pence will remark.
He believes that saving the infants would save the country. The pro-life cause is moral but must also be national.
