Reports say that thirteen incidents happened between July 29 and August 12, 2023, where women used guns for self-defense.
On August 2, 2023, in the Wake County, North Carolina, parking lot of a grocery store, a woman shot and murdered Steven McLamb, age 49. The event happened in the parking lot of a supermarket.
McLamb was shot as he tried to enter the woman’s vehicle at the end of a road rage incident that had escalated to that point. McLamb’s careless driving provoked the lady, who became irate and started the road rage incident.
A woman in Salem, Indiana, intervened successfully with her gun when, on August 7, 2023, her daughter’s former boyfriend drove onto the property and held a gun to her husband’s head.
A sexual offender with a criminal record is suspected of trying to break into a Tucson, Arizona, home on August 11, 2023. Allegedly, the 54-year-old woman who was home alone shouted at the registered sex offender to stop, but he continued. She had to fire one shot before he dropped dead on the driveway.
According to a study conducted by Fox News, women in Pennsylvania, Mississippi, and elsewhere used weapons to defend themselves and their families over the relevant two-week time frame.
In an article published on February 19, 2015, criminologist Gary Kleck of Florida State University reaffirmed his earlier scholarly findings that weapons are used for self-defense at least 760,000 times annually in the United States of America.
In addition, it was reported on December 15, 2022, on allegations that the CDC responded to complaints by gun control supporters by removing data from its website showing that there are over 2.5 million defensive gun usages annually.
Weapons are used to prevent far more deaths than they cause.
Since this is the case, FOX News has observed: “The 13 incidents during a roughly two-week period are simply a peek of how many women probably utilized a pistol to defend themselves.”
